ABOUT ME
DJ Beal is an experienced journalist with print, digital, and broadcast experience. I currently work as a Digital Content Producer for Bahakel Communications and WCCB, Charlotte's CW where I manage several television and radio stations along with creating content for the company. I was formerly an Assistant Communications Director at Pi Kappa Phi where I was tasked with connecting the fraternity and its partners through a variety of ways. Some of those mediums include newsletters, magazines, emails and videos, which I have played a crucial role in creating compelling content for the department. I served as the Executive Producer and Sports Director at BTW 21. Before becoming those roles, I was the News Director and the assistant to the Sports Director, excelling in video editing and live production during my time there. Being the producer was a completely different avenue for me. It gave me the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the news process and producing several shows with a variety of hosts. As for working in sports, it has allowed me to develop my skills covering sports for broadcast media. During my senior year in college, I worked for the Highland Cavalier at the University of Virginia's College at Wise. During this time, I was able to write about sports, education, and lifestyle to bring a unique spin to the student newspaper.
I currently work for an online wrestling publication called Daily DDT. This professional wrestling based website is within the sports site, FanSided. While writing for Daily DDT, I have been able to hone a variety of skills such as importing pictures and embeding tweets to his articles to help draw the readers attention while accumulating thousands of views on the website.
My broadcast experience strings from his time at BTW 21 during a summer internship in 2015. As a news reporter for BTW, I was able to develop interviewing skills while adding to past voice over experience. The time spent at BTW also allowed me to become familiar with a studio camera and the backstage production of daily shows.
Lastly, with all the experiences that I have compiled in the field, I also have done impressive work at home. I have my own YouTube channel that is used to bring my skills together. As the co-host of the Instant Classic Wrestling Podcast , and the host of The Be More Show, I have been able to interview wrestling stars, produce my own live podcast, and edit introductions that show the uniqueness of the channel.
